THE DEBUT SEASON

In our Men’s Seniors’ debut 2017/2018 season, Llandarcy AFC made a strong entrance, securing promotion from Division 2—the former bottom division—to Division 1. The team’s hard work and determination shone through, finishing an impressive second in the league, just behind Alltwen. This remarkable debut season set the foundation for our club’s commitment to growth and excellence in every season that followed.

BACK TO BACK

Building on a strong start, Llandarcy AFC’s Men’s Seniors carried their form into Division 1, delivering another impressive season. Finishing comfortably in second place behind Rhos, the team secured promotion to the Neath Premier League. Within just two years, the lads had climbed to the Premier League, consistently strengthening their performance each week and setting a high standard for the seasons to come.

MAKING OUR MARK

In our inaugural season in the Premier League, Llandarcy AFC continued to build on previous success. With the addition of new players, the squad strengthened even further, delivering consistent form throughout the season. Our progress was highlighted by a strong League Cup campaign, culminating in our first-ever cup final.  The lads come close throughout the game, including a missed penalty, from the clubs all-time top goalscorer, Gavin Andrews. Despite a hard-fought match, we narrowly missed out on the trophy, falling to Clydach Sports. This season marked another important step forward, solidifying our place in the league and setting the stage for future successes

BUILDING OUR SQUAD

In this season, Llandarcy AFC continued to establish a strong presence in the Premier League, completing another solid campaign with consistent performance. It was also a pivotal year, marked by the introduction of our reserve team, which added depth and provided a pathway for developing talent. Impressively, the reserves achieved promotion in their debut season, moving from Reserve Division 3 to Reserve Division 2. This achievement underscored our club’s commitment to growth at every level and laid a strong foundation for the future.

CLOSE CALLS & CUP GLORY

Llandarcy AFC’s season was marked by near success and impressive achievements. The first team came close to promotion from the Premier League, finishing a strong season just shy of the top. Our reserves celebrated back-to-back promotions, advancing to Reserve Division 1, and capped off their season with a thrilling 2-1 league cup win over Seven Sisters Onlywyn, with our two goals being shared by a 16 year old Barcley Davies & Owen Birch.

DIFFERENT SEASON, SAME STORY

This season saw Llandarcy AFC’s first team once again narrowly miss out on Premier League promotion after a hard-fought campaign. Our reserve team delivered an impressive performance, finishing just 2 points behind Rhos to take second place in the league. The reserves capped their season with another thrilling cup final victory, defeating Neath Town and demonstrating the resilience and growth of our squad.

A SEASON OF STRUGGLE

After another season of narrowly missing out on promotion, Llandarcy AFC faced one of its toughest challenges. The club struggled across the board, resulting in the unfortunate folding of the reserve team despite their strong second-place finish in Division 1. The first team endured a difficult campaign, spending most of the season in the bottom two. Against the odds, a late surge saw the team win 3 of their last 5 games, managing to hold onto their place in the Premier League and keeping the club’s hopes alive.

BACK ON TRACK

After a challenging year, Llandarcy AFC saw the return of familiar faces, with Chairman David Birch and First Team Captain Daniel Thomas stepping back in to guide the club’s revival. Alongside them, the reserve squad was reintroduced under the leadership of Owen Birch, focusing on a new generation of younger players. This renewed direction led to a season of progress, as the first team secured a strong 4th-place finish in the league, and the youthful reserves achieved promotion from Division 3, marking a promising new chapter for the club

A YEAR OF AMBITION

This season marks one of Llandarcy AFC’s strongest positions yet, with both our 1st and 2nd teams performing exceptionally on the pitch. The firsts sit in 2nd place, pushing for promotion to the West Wales Premier League, while the reserves top Division 2 and are set for back-to-back promotions. In addition, our newly formed ladies’ team has taken the lead in their league with impressive dominance. The club also established a youth (U18s) team, creating a seamless pathway for junior players to transition into senior football, solidifying our commitment to growth and success across all levels.
